Come to the Fair!

A history of the Inverness Fair beginning in 1947
Volume XXIII, Number 3 - Summer 2019

This issue of Under the Gables includes a lengthy article by Meg Linden titled.”The Inverness Fair Through Time” that traces the origins and changes of this community tradition beginning in 1947 and still celebrated every August in this rural community. There is also an excerpt of Dewey Livingston’s forthcoming book, a reminiscence by Theresa Parella, who taught at Pierce Ranch School on Tomales Point in beginning in 1939. A brief article also notes changes in the Museum Committee.

(Image above) The 1966 Inverness Fair featured a replica of Brock Schrieber’s boathouse with history exhibits and historic photographs for sale.
