Camping under the stars at Inverness, is an excerpt from Dewey Livingston’s upcoming book about Point Reyes and Tomales Bay. It tells of James McMillan Shafter’s attempts to establish the town of Inverness, inviting prospective buyers to camp on lots and his grand plans to develop the area.
