Social & Cultural Organizations of West Marin

Community Groups and Buildings
Volume XXII Number 4 Spring 2018
Forester's of America Meeting Hall, Point Reyes Station was built in 1915.

This issue features the exhibit “Social and Cultural Organizations of West Marin”, curated by Tom Branan and Meg Linden. The exhibit and newsletter articles focus on the buildings used to house local organizations including the churches and schools as well as the buildings constructed for more formal organizations like the Druids Halls. Meg Linden, Tom Branan and Kathy Hartzell all contribute articles focused on where and how “Community Centers,” (most of which did not have that name but served that function) were used and which groups they served. Among the groups included are the Inverness Garden Club, The Inverness Foundation, , United Ancient Order of Druids, The Foresters, Lions and Rotary Clubs, Sir Francis Drake Society, Boy Scouts, and Inverness Yacht Club.
